Young Hearts, Deep Questions
The 9/6 afternoon started slowly but after 30 minutes we were busy sharing our faith at the display table, and with a mobile team that encountered many in the park.
A young man (recently baptized in a Protestant church) came up to our table with many deep questions about Christianity, which we attempted to answer with respect to our Catholic faith. He had prayed just before coming to Discovery Green asking God for answers. He spent 45 minutes talking to our young Catholic evangelists, who occasionally asked the gray-bearded Deacon for clarification. We prayed with him and encouraged involvement with Christian community, including at Annunciation and Catholic Charismatic Center.
Our mobile team encountered many needing prayer for family issues and depression. They successfully gave away the handful of Rosaries, Crucifixes & holy cards and had to come back for resupplies.
Also, one of our new young lady evangelists seemed to have a gift engaging with children (with parental permission), giving coloring books, colorful crosses, wristbands, while interacting with the families. These included a Coptic Egyptian family, a (non-practicing) Catholic Cuban family, and some unmarried couples with children, who all were welcomed to the Catholic Church. Scattering seed.
Also, we were approached by a couple of Protestant evangelists who were impressed by our outreach. We prayed with each other. 🙏
