Parish Life Center

Building spaces where saints are formed

The Parish Life Center will be built in the style of our historic Parochial School (1887-1994)

Phase 1, completed in 2019, included: Construction of a new rectory; remodeling of the William Foley House to create three small classrooms, a conference room, and parish offices; addition of a Bridal Room Annex with new restrooms and paving of a courtyard and plaza.

Now, in 2025, we celebrate the completion of the parking garage, a critical infrastructure improvement that supports our growing parish community.

The total cost of the parking garage was approximately $11 million, with Annunciation’s share at nearly $5.5 million. We were able to finance more than half of this amount through cash on hand, with the remainder covered by a loan from the archdiocese.

With these milestones behind us, we are eager to restore parish life with regularly scheduled activities, a renewed spirit of community, and a rebound in attendance. At the same time, we remain committed to fiscal conservancy as we integrate the parking garage into our daily operations, work to pay off our debt, rebuild our savings, and advance toward Phase 2 of our Master Plan.

Phase 2 is to build a Parish Life Center to provide an indoor parish hall for gatherings and receptions, etc.; classrooms for catechesis and sacrament preparation for all grade levels and across the life-spectrum, group meetings, office space as needed, storage; etc. This is vital for bringing our parish into full functioning in helping our parish family, and drawing all people, to come to know, love and serve God and neighbor in the one Church founded by Jesus Christ. It’s important for carrying out our mission of aspiring to - and of making saints!

Our spiritual ideals are lofty – as they should be! But there is a brick - & - mortar, dollars - & - cents aspect to all this that requires our sacrificial commitment.

Over a period of years, we have been working on the conceptual design of the Parish Life Center. Now that the Parking Garage has been built and is operational, I have been working with the Construction Office of the Archdiocese and have assembled a Parish Building Committee. Our architect and our project manager will take us through the process of generating a financial estimate for the cost of the project. This will enable us to go before the Archdiocesan Building Commission to get approval for Phase 2. We will then seek to obtain archdiocesan permission to begin raising funds to pay for the project.

To begin construction, we will need to have half of the funds in hand and show how we will be able to pay for the rest of the project, including any outstanding obligations such as the parking garage loan.

“For I know well the plans I have for you… plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future full of hope” Jer. 29:11

Imagine what it will be like to be able to arrive and park in the stress-free parking garage, enter into sublime sacred worship at holy Mass, gather in the plaza or the Parish Life Center indoor parish Hall for socials or continuing adult formation Imagine what it will be like to be able to arrive and park in the stress-free parking garage, enter into sublime sacred worship presentations at holy Mass, gather in the plaza or the Parish Life Center indoor parish Hall for socials or continuing adult formation presentations, conduct service activities, and have our children and youth playing on the grounds of the courtyard and the plaza, or in classrooms at grade level for their catechesis and for their sacrament preparation classes – growing in the life of our family of faith here at Annunciation, in the safe embrace of Holy Mother Church - the “House of God and the Gate of Heaven”. This isn’t merely a dream – it is a graced reality on its way to fruition!

Family Consecration to Mary

In the Spirit of St. Maximilian Kolbe

O IMMACULATA,
Queen of heaven and earth, our life, our sweetness, and our hope, on this day we the Annunciation family come before you to consecrate ourselves to you as your possession and property. We praise God because he has brought us together to give ourselves to you our Mother. We do this because Jesus said on the Cross, “Behold your Mother.”

We need you, Mother Mary, to help us to be a truly Catholic family. Enter into our family life. Repeat to us the words you spoke at Cana, “Do whatever He tells you.”

Help us to overlook one another’s faults, to forgive as Jesus has forgiven us, and to love one another as Our Lord has asked us to love.

Please use our family to crush the head of the serpent. Ask your Spouse, St. Joseph, Protector of the universal Church, to keep us one in mind and heart with your Son’s Vicar, Pope Leo XIV.

Today you have become the Queen of our hearts and home. May our home be a “City of the Immaculata,” where the Sacred Heart of Jesus reigns forever. Amen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning & Timeline

  • The parish is currently working with the Archdiocesan Construction Office. An architect and project manager will guide the next phase, including developing a detailed cost estimate.

  • Conceptual plans have been developed over several years. Final designs will be completed once cost estimates are prepared and archdiocesan approvals are received.

  • Construction may begin only after approval from the Archdiocesan Building Commission and once sufficient funds are secured.

  • Yes. With the completion of the Parking Garage, the parish is now able to move forward with Phase 2 in an orderly and approved process.

Parish Life Center Design & Use

  • The Parish Life Center will be built on the parish property behind the church, between the Rectory and the Foley House. This is the site where the historic parish school once stood.

  • While the site is limited in size, it is the property available to us, and it has successfully served the parish in the past. The original school was built on this same footprint and functioned well for generations.

The new Parish Life Center will be carefully designed to make efficient use of every inch of space while respecting the character and history of the parish campus. The architectural style will reflect the historic school and harmonize with our campus.

  • Building on existing parish property allows the Parish Life Center to remain integrated into the daily life of the parish—close to the church, rectory, and parish grounds—while also being financially responsible. This location supports accessibility, continuity, and stewardship of what the parish has already been entrusted with.

  • The Parish Life Center will serve the entire parish, including catechesis, sacrament preparation, adult formation, parish gatherings, meetings, and other apostolates across all ages.

  • Use of the space will begin once construction is completed and the building is fully operational.

Accountability & Oversight

  • The project will be overseen by the Archdiocese, the parish Building Committee, and qualified professionals to ensure transparency, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility.

  • Regular updates will be provided through parish communications, including announcements, bulletins, and parish meetings.

Financing & Stewardship

  • The project will be funded through a combination of parish fundraising, stewardship commitments, and careful financial planning in accordance with archdiocesan requirements.

  • Yes. The completion of the parking garage was a major milestone in our Master Plan, with Annunciation’s share totaling nearly $5.5 million. While the parish continues to pay down the remaining loan from the garage, this obligation is factored into our financial planning for the Parish Life Center. Our goal is to balance ongoing debt repayment with a clear, responsible plan to raise the funds needed for Phase 2.

  • We take a conservative, step-by-step approach. Paying down the parking garage loan remains a priority, but careful budgeting, phased planning, and the upcoming fundraising campaign allow us to advance toward the Parish Life Center without compromising financial stability. This ensures that each phase of the Master Plan strengthens the parish while remaining fiscally responsible.

  • Yes. Once final costs are approved, the parish will request permission from the Archdiocese to begin a fundraising campaign.

  • Yes. To begin construction, the parish must have at least 50% of the project cost in hand and a clear plan to pay the remaining balance, including existing obligations.

  • Any use of debt would follow archdiocesan guidelines and be approached prudently. All decisions prioritize the long-term financial health of the parish.

  • At this time, no additional archdiocesan tax has been announced. Parishioners will be informed if this changes.

Giving Options

  • Yes. Parishioners may make special gifts or memorial donations designated for the Parish Life Center.

  • Yes. Pushpay allows parishioners to adjust their offertory amount at any time.

  • Yes. Stock and other special gifts are welcome. Please contact the parish office for assistance.
