Rev. Fr. Paul Felix was born the fourth of six children and raised in Houston, Texas. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and a Master of Divinity from the University of St. Thomas and its School of Theology. In 1990, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Galveston–Houston.
He has served as the parochial vicar at St. Vincent de Paul Church, St. Frances Cabrini Church, where he began a ministry in collaboration with the laity to area nursing homes, St. Edward the Confessor Church, and Christ Our Light Church during which time he also ministered inmates at 2 Texas State prisons.
He currently serves as Pastor of the Church of the Annunciation in downtown Houston. Previously, as Pastor of Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson, he focused on Spanish-language ministry, Eucharistic Adoration, and the New Evangelization. He founded a Catholic medical ethics group under the patronage of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, promoted the Gospel of Life, and renewed the Shrine’s mission as a diocesan place of pilgrimage and healing, officially designated as the Archdiocesan church of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Within the Archdiocese, Fr. Felix has served on the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, Presbyteral Council, and as Vicar Forane for both the Galveston–Mainland and Central Deaneries.
He is a spiritual director for clergy, seminarians, and laity; a frequent confessor and retreat master for Aggie Awakening, ACTS, Project Rachel, and Camp Kappe youth retreats; and has taught extensively in OCIA and adult faith formation. He also participated in a mission trip to Kerala, India, promoting devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Fr. Felix is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a founding member of the Jesus Caritas Fraternity of Priests in the Archdiocese, a participant in the Opus Dei Circle of Priests, and a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
