We will start the preparation for total consecration on March 20 and end on May 1, the feast of St. Joseph the Worker.
-
Consecrating means dedicating yourself to someone or something.
You will entrust yourself to St. Joseph and seek his fatherly guidance and protection, while meditating on his life and virtues.
St. Joseph is the
Foster Father of Jesus Christ,
Patron and Protector of the Universal Church,
Terror of Demons,
and Protector of Chastity
-
God, in His loving design, invites others to participate in His plan of salvation.
Just as consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary does not diminish our relationship with Christ but rather perfects it, so too is devotion to St. Joseph.
St. Joseph is entirely devoted to Mary, his spouse, and to Jesus, his Son.
By consecrating yourself to St. Joseph, your love for both Mary and Jesus is not divided, but deepened and brought to greater perfection.
-
Marian consecration is unique because:
Mary alone is Mother of God (Theotokos)
God chose her freely as the instrument of the Incarnation
She cooperated directly, maternally, and uniquely in salvation
Her mediation is ongoing and universal
The Church officially encourages entrustment to her in a way not done for any other saint
