Evangelists!
Last Saturday's evangelism training had 20 participants with eleven (including four 1st-timers) evangelizing at Daikin Park/Annunciation Church. We broke into two mobile teams and one team at the table at Annunciation. In addition to the ball game there was a Dream Convention going on and the attendees were very open to our encounters. Just a few stories:
One team member Amy, used her ability to read asian script on convention badges and tee-shirts, asking people "Do you want to know what it says on that item that you are wearing?", opening the door to share the Gospel. The team engaged a man, who after hearing the meaning of the script on his tee, removed his shirt saying "I don't want any part of that!". He was given a holy spirit medal, and was grateful to receive it, along with prayer.
Another team met a man, a Protestant for three years, who had been seriously considering Catholicism. He was encouraged and saw their encounter, along with the prophetic words and Erik's personal witness of the Blessed Mother, as a sign from God on his journey to the faith.
A convention-goer, who received a holy medal at the SPSE table, committed in his heart to follow Jesus and give Him 1st place in his life. The evangelist used the Jesus-at-the-Door tract to explain the Gospel (Kerygma) and the man was encouraged to go to a Catholic or Christian church of his tradition for formation and fellowship. There were many other God-encounters.
