SPSE Outreach Report 11/15 & Schedule Update
Our 1st evening evangelization effort at Discovery Green was blessedly fruitful. Our Lord graced us with His favor as evidenced by an encounter with a Ukrainian immigrant who approached our table asking for prayer for his cancer-afflicted father. After joining in prayer, a team member Erik noted the man was limping, using a cane. After receiving a couple of prayers for healing, the man's pain level went from a 7 to 0 & he began to jump around praising Jesus, raising his cane above his head. He made quite the scene as he thanked the Lord. (Acts 3:9) Throughout the evening we also prayed with many others, of which (at least) 5 who responded to our Jesus at the Door tract, asking Our Lord to come into their lives, including a non-practicing Catholic mother & her two (unbaptized) children. All were directed to the Catholic Church.
The convention center was hosting the National Realtor Conference. As a real estate professional myself, I attempted to engage (literally) dozens of Realtors with the Gospel message, including encouraging them to ask God's help in their business. Of the many, only ONE stopped to talk for a very short conversation. It reflects the sad spiritual state of many professionals who appear to seek monetary gain. As seen previously in our outreaches it appears the younger generation & families are the spiritually hungry.
Finally, we ran into some Protestant "evangelists" who seemed to share our desire to share the Good News, but adhered to a hyper-Calvinist doctrine of predestination (bordering on cultish). They refused to pray with us for the salvation of souls, rather choosing to justify their "anti-free will" theology challenging us with isolated, pre-arranged KJV scripture passages & even attempting to use an (out-of-context) Augustine writing. Our young evangelists (after this apparent waste of time) learned an excellent lesson on how to properly read scripture and the value of Sacred Tradition.
Event Update. Due to an event at the Catholic Charismatic Center on the evening of Saturday 12/13/25, we will tentatively change our DG outreach time to 1-4p that day. We plan on evangelizing 5-8p on 12/20 as planned. Also I was told that a couple of our parishioners joined the Annunciation Rosary Walk last Saturday. Yay!
Blessings,
Dn Alex
